Small detour to the Whangei rock feature must be included in the short walk
by Fergalh
8 May 2024
Head North east of Glasgow and park at the Queens view on the A809 just north of the demolished Carbeth Inn. Follow track to the Whangie rock feature. This was formed according to local folklore by the devils tail cutting through rock. Whatever the truth the narrow track through 20 metres high walls is worth doing, When exiting head south east climbing a small slope to trig pillar and take a track back to the main Whangie track and back to carpark. Around 4 km return trip Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/B4995/comment/24196/
