Great view from summit on way to Scafell Pike from south

Parked to south just after the wonderful Hard Knotts Pass and headed up valley towards Scafell Pike. You pass the Heron Rag and Thostle Garth waterfalls on way and head up and over Thostle Garth mountain before reaching this unmarked summit. Arrive early very limited parking for popular summit

Parking is very limited at the phone box at entrance to Brotherilkeld farm. Fortunately this is the less popular side of Scafell Pike as it is longer and more arduous. There is parking for around 12 cars around 200 metres further east towards Hard Knott Pass but if you are not there early expect a longer walk as there are few parking places on the narrow lanes around here.
