Spectacular and worth the steep climb
by Fergalh  14 Apr 2023
From Moel Yr Ogof a steep descent through a narrow cleft leads to the col which is just over 500 metres. There is still a long steep climb ahead. A track largely follows the wall all the way to the summit. This is marked by a battered brick trig pillar. However the summit is actually a small cairn around twenty metres away. Spectacular views in all directions. Descending afterwards to the col there is a loose and faint right of way track that leads into forest. However with numerous forest tracks a good map is essential to find your way back to the car park Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/B1992/comment/23901/

Walking in the footsteps of giants
by Fergalh  14 Apr 2023
There is a legend that the last King of Wales Ogof Owain Glyndwyer hid in a cave here after the siege of Harlech Castle in 1407 by Henry IV. I did not locate the cave but i am sure my celtic cousin or his supporters also sheltered in this huge cleft in the rocks around that time. Great view of the wall on Moel Hiobod Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/B1992/comment/23902/
