The Big Herdsman

Buachaille Etive Mòr (the big herdsman of Etive), affectionately known as The Buachaille, is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular sights along the West Highland Way, Scotland’s famous long-distance trekking route. This iconic peak rises majestically from the desolate Rannoch Moor and sentinel-like, seems to guard the entrance to Glencoe which offers some of the most majestic mountain scenery in the British Isles. We took this shot of the mountain with the River Etive creating a strong lead-in line at sunset in March on our way back to Ireland due to the Covid-19 Lockdown.
