Winter Majesty in the Scottish Higlands
by mcrtchly 4 Jan 2021
Lagangarbh Hut, an old crofter's cottage, sits above the River Coupall and is dwarfed by the magnificent Buachaille Etive Mor mountain. It is owned by the National Trust for Scotland and has been occupied and maintained by the Scottish Mountaineering Club since 1946. Linkback:

Picture: Winter sunset view from the River Etive
The Big Herdsman
by mcrtchly 16 Jun 2020
Buachaille Etive Mòr (the big herdsman of Etive), affectionately known as The Buachaille, is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular sights along the West Highland Way, Scotland’s famous long-distance trekking route. This iconic peak rises majestically from the desolate Rannoch Moor and sentinel-like, seems to guard the entrance to Glencoe which offers some of the most majestic mountain scenery in the British Isles. We took this shot of the mountain with the River Etive creating a strong lead-in line at sunset in March on our way back to Ireland due to the Covid-19 Lockdown. Linkback:
