This is my local hill, right on the back of my house.Grid ref C404 470 starA I would climb this hill on the north side. Park on layby at rashenny ( main rd between Ballyliffin and Carndonagh) Follow country road up the hill until you reach the forestry land begins. The fun thing about this hill is that there is no set path. Once you cut through the forest march your way through long heather filled with purple flowers. There is actually a group of 4 mountains here together. Once you get to the top the views are breath taking, Malin head and Glashedy islandto the north, Slieve snacht to the south, Culdaff and Scotland to the north east. But the best thing that attracts me to the hill at least twice a week is the wildlife. Nesting buzzards, foxes, badgers, hedgehogs , partridges and pheasants. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/964/comment/3890/
