There is just enough space for one car to park off road, at around
Bun'crk (C410 477), on the minor road to north east of Coolcross Hill. From the lay-by walk a short distance to an abandon cottage, at
B (C411 476), go through the gate and round the back of the cottage and cross a low fence. Then cross a hidden stream in this steep sided re entrant. Turn a small crag on the right and then walk up hill to a minor top before a short descent into a minor col. Continue over a second top, a short descent into yet another col and final ascent to the summit and trig point of Coolcross Hill.
Being apart from the other hills makes this summit a fine view point, but then again, is there any other type in Inishowen? On our descent, we contoured round the two minor tops (on their south east slopes), rejoining our route of ascent at
C (C410 473). It was here we spotted the lizards in the title. Since our easter trip to the Bluestacks, we have seen at least a couple of dozen Lizards on the various hill ranges where we have been walking, 2010 must be a good year for them.
