The element poll, which seems unusual for a hill name, is explained by the fact that there is a pool virtually on the summit. A surprising number of streams rise on the slopes of this hill. No graves are evident to explain the element leacht. Also known as Pigeon Top.   Pollnalaght is the 1178th highest place in Ireland. Pollnalaght is the most easterly summit in the South Donegal & West Tyrone area.
