Notes on name: This peak is unnamed on OS maps. It is situated in the townland of Cashloura. Any information on the correct name of this hill would be welcome. Has been called Maulanimirish.

Following Jackills instructions (I seem to be saying that a lot) I missed the path at 450m, but picked up one at 1.3 km, I'm guessing it joins up with the track at 450m. When you reach the forest road, turn left to reach the telecoms enclosure mentioned by Jackill.
I found an interesting platform not too far from the telecoms enclosure, my initial thought was that the locals were presenting some medals, but when the bog water came in over the top of my boots as I walked underneath, I realised its purpose immediately.
The summit if it's on the earth bank is best reached from the very end of the forest road rather than walking the length of the bank, it's the highest point, but not what's shown on the OSI map, so I wonder if it's man made and thus doesn't count. Just in case I went just inside the treeline off the end of the forest road which seems to be the point indicated on the OSI maps. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/958/comment/14752/

An enjoyable walk for all ages

Park at B (W20849 49704) at Coillte forest entrance just off the R586 Regional Road between Dunmanway and Drimoleague. Parking available for 6-8 cars. Follow forest road which is along line of disused West Cork railway line for approx. 1.5km until the path then sweeps uphill to eventually reach an enclosed Vodafone telecom mast. Keeping mast enclosure to you right proceed ENE for approx 100 metres along narrow gravel path to end of forest and then turn sharp right, keeping forest area on your right Follow rough forest road to summit in recently cleared forest ground at C (W21017 48477).
