Another quick summit, in a day of high winds

There is room to park a car by a lane without blocking it at A (V402 665). Cross the road to a track and go through an old (and small) gate to the left - the tracks on the ground being slightly different to the way they are marked on the map, but its obvious enough. Follow this track up hill and then across the slope, if you are using a gps, you'll notice your route is a bit below the marked track then above it. When the track fades into some deep grass and heather, continue on a rising line and you will quickly reach an old field boundary with a fence, follow up hill, then, as the ground starts to level off, cross following another fence towards the summit area, hope over this fence as the summit is on the North side of it. Great views on a clear evening.

really easy hill to climb for some stunning views both east and west. Wait for a sunny evening and you'll have a great time looking at the sun declining behind the Skelligs, Lemon Rock and Puffin Island. Easy climb if you start from B (V400 667)…there's space for 3 or 4 cars if you're prepared to have a third of your car on the road…the roads are very quiet though! There's a nearby gate from which you can launch your assault on the hill…be prepared for it to be a little rough underfoot but all-in-all tis an easy 30 mins ascent following a fence for the most part. As well as the aforementioned western views, there are also great views east into ballinaskelligs Bay and out to Scarriff Island and the Beara peninsula. Watch out for the Cow pats
