This hill is in the townland of Letterettrin / Leitir Eitreann, 'hillside of furrows' [TR], a name which is topographical in origin and may indeed be an alternative name for the same hill. Walks: for a route along the S shore of Killary Harbour, see Kevin Corcoran, West of Ireland Walks, 102-10. See Paddy Dillon, Connemara, for a similar walk (62-68) and also for a routes to the summit of Binn Mhór (57-61) and across Salrock Pass (69-73).   Leitir Eitreann is the 1091th highest place in Ireland. Leitir Eitreann is the most northerly summit in the Twelve Bens area.

Followed the second option mentioned by sandman which was spot on. Just a comment that smaller hills like this and nearby Lettershanbally provide really good alternative hikes if there is low cloud cover on the bigger neighbouring mountains. Many Ways of Ascent.
by sandman  18 Apr 2017
Numerous options are available to you when deciding your ascent, I mention two. Option 1- which is the most direct park at L7968061187 starA and through a gate surrounded by rhododendrons out on to open hill. Option 2 -park in a small lay-by at L8077260833 starB, even though you have to cross two run down fences you will be rewarded with better views and underfoot conditions on the ascent. You also get to visit the lower summit en-route. Although a small hill great views over Killary and across to Inishturk. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/920/comment/18884/
