Wear Your Wellies
by Pepe  19 Mar 2017
As of early 2017 the top section of forestry has been felled, making the trig easily visible once you're up. A word of caution: this felling has resulted in a treacherous summit surface; a gazillion branches lurk on the ground often hiding under grass, moss or loose sods, waiting to trap the unsuspecting walker. Felling has also resulted in heavy machinery activity and many deeply-gouged digger trails often full of watery snares. A boot of mine got sucked into the clinging mud behind me, as did one of Marie's. Luckily we were able to fish them both out with a hiking pole. Wellies advised rather than boots if you plan on climbing Coppanagh. Overall, not a hill to put top of anyone's wish-list. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/882/comment/18860/
