I took the Glen of Aherlow road from Tipperary Town. On top of the hill, after negotiating a couple of hairpin bends, I found a sign @Glen of Aherlow Nature Park. Park at a space on the right hand side of the road at point R879313 A. There is a boom in place preventing cars to park inside. After stepping over the boom you will see a sign for a mass rock, follow this. You will pass another sign leading to this particular rock, just ignore it and keep going on straight untill you can't go any further. Here you have to use a reasonably rough track up the hill untill you come to a T-junction of path's. Turn right here and you will see the trig pillar indicating the summit at point R842306 B. There are also the remains of a megalithic tomb, which you can see on the photo. After that you have the choice of several forestry roads back to the start (which they all lead to).
All in all, not spectacular, but a nice walk. In my estimation approx. 10 km. The forestry present on the map is felled in the mean time leaving the place very bare and exposed. Lovely views onto the Galtee Mountains. Trackback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/880/comment/3412/
