Park in the large carpark at R879 313 A.Cross the road to a forest entrance and turn left on a forest road immediately inside following a sign for a mass rock. You will pass another sign leading to this particular rock, just ignore it and keep going on straight until you can't go any further. Turn right on a rough track up the hill . Turn right again at the crest of the hill here and you will see the trig pillar ahead to your left. There are also the remains of a megalithic tomb, and a garden bench. I took the Glen of Aherlow road from Tipperary Town. On top of the hill, after negotiating a couple of hairpin bends, I found a sign @Glen of Aherlow Nature Park. Park at a space on the right hand side of the road at point R879313 A. There is a boom in place preventing cars to park inside. After stepping over the boom you will see a sign for a mass rock, follow this. You will pass another sign leading to this particular rock, just ignore it and keep going on straight untill you can't go any further. Here you have to use a reasonably rough track up the hill untill you come to a T-junction of path's. Turn right here and you will see the trig pillar indicating the summit at point R842306 B. There are also the remains of a megalithic tomb, which you can see on the photo. After that you have the choice of several forestry roads back to the start (which they all lead to).
All in all, not spectacular, but a nice walk. In my estimation approx. 10 km. The forestry present on the map is felled in the mean time leaving the place very bare and exposed. Lovely views onto the Galtee Mountains. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/880/comment/3412/

Followed jackil's directions although the path heading East was much muckier than the lower track we had followed to reach the Trig and Dolmen so we ended up joining the lower track about two kilometers from the forestry enterence and followed that back instead. Nothing to add to the comment by sbender, except we walked it today and took a leisurely 2.5 hours to do the circuit. Meant to do something higher in the Galty's but with the recent awful deluge's we decided on a sensible gentle walk. I would add that there is a lot of scrambler/quad tyre damage on some of the tracks especially the one following the ridge west to the summit. Wear boots, don't take the runners!
