Just posting this now after a nice New Year's day outing. We started from the Srahmore area and crossed Mt Eagle. Then up the SE flank of Bullaunmore from Glendavoolagh valley. Very good views in all directions. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/855/comment/24372/

It May Be Small

Bullaunmore may be small in stature beside its more famous neighbours but because of its location on the edge of the Nephin Beg Range the views from the summit well rewards the climb to its top Exit Newport towards Achill and turn right on th the L1402 - (Furnace) continue on through the Wild Nephin Wilderness Area and having passed Bunaveela Lake, on your left you can park in a lay-by at A (G00016 09454) - From here it is a straight line accent to the grassy summit. The summit area is undefined and numerous spots vie for the title and as my GPS is like myself, getting old, I will await for a future hill walker to clarify the exact spot. The views anre just fantastic from Slieve Carr to Nephin from Maumakeogh to Clew Ban and all else in between Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/855/comment/15064/
