Update on felling and Antenna
by mickhanney  28 Aug 2023
In recent times there has been a huge amount of felling of forestry on and around Preban hill. A few years back an antenna was erected at the back of the Five Townlands in the forestry. Now the antennae stands across an empty deforested landscape. The top sections of forestry along the main fire-road are mostly cleared now too. On the ground it isnt pretty to the eye but the views of the surrounding countryside are really opened out.

Update 28 Aug 23. The Met Mast (antenna) on Preban hill is gone. Whether that is a good or bad omen for Turbine building I don't know, as I saw reports of Planning refusals for a wind farm on the hill. There had been a huge amount of felling in on the hill in the last few years, so the views on the ground aren't pretty but the bonus is the clear views of the surrounding countryside.
