There is a large RTE transmitter on the top of Maghera with a tarred road up to the summit. There is room to park several cars at the, usually locked, gates at R529 897 A. Allow just over an hour for the walk to and from the top. This is a pleasant enough walk through coniferous forest. During my visit there were large numbers of orchids in bloom on the roadside near the summit.

A similar but slightly short route is to proceed from R52403 89504 B, another forest entrance, where there is parking for a couple of cars without blocking entrance. Follow track up taking first left after about 350m, then left again at crossroads, go straight through next crossroads and then follow track as it swings NE all the way to the summit, marked by a TV mast. The highpoint appears to be a rough bank on the west side of the rail surrounding mast. Summit area is an exposed fairly bleak affair. Time up and down, about 70 leisurely minutes. Unlike some other comments, I enjoyed the hike to the top of Maghera as it afforded a fine vista of the surronding hills all the way up and down the RTE road. I did get a bit of rain on the top but it soon cleared. An easy top to bag. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/838/comment/4363/

If you like low undramatic hills covered in coniferous forestry, with an out-of-the-way vibe, than this is the place for you.
Being the lazy sort, I was a mite disappointed to discover the gates described by Salamander (grid ref R5295 8975 C) locked. So it was on with the boots and up the tarred road. We were soon into low cloud, but it wasn't long before the RTE transmission tower and buildings loomed out of the gloom. The unmarked summit is no more than a rise in the grass beside the tower. The low cloud reduced visibility, but I'm not sure we were missing much.

This is an easy walk out and back along a forest track starting at R52403 89504 B. This track joins with a tarred road that leads to the summit. The views at the top are restricted as the mountain is planted with trees. The fact that my best picture is of the actual large mast at the top of the hill says it all.
