Long hill, as suggested by the name, has a flat top marked by a cairn, and as a result, the going can be boggy on the summit.
When descending towards Glennagad (Holy cross above Clonmel) watch out for nice stone markers that are scattered amongst the heather at approx D (S215 201). These appear to be the remains of a firing range that was there some years ago.

Long hill can be reached from lay-by above Barravakeen (first right past Clonmel golf club) at A (S248 193) with plenty of room for cars. Walk up the road, hop the fence and skirt across the top of the Punchbowl to reach the summit.
There is also easy access from Glennagad, via the road up to the holy cross (B (S209 207) - room for 4 cars). From this side there is a track up the mountain and then a quick trot across the boggy top to the cairn rewards you with excellent views. I suggest you stray off the track and look at the stone markers which can be found amongst the heather on the north of the track. A long story short

I did this as part of a three-top loop taking in Long, Laghtnafrankee and Laghtnafrankee SW, returning via the valley to the N to rejoin the track at roughly point E (S215 200). Long Hill itself is aptly named, with a long gentle trek to the top along a good track. Most interesting part was at the start/end as it was June and the rhododendrons were in full bloom (I know they're a pest sometimes, but they do look fantastic.) It was also interesting that the narrow track to access the track (starting at Holy Cross) was via a tunnel of rhododendrons as in pic. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/807/comment/23175/

The summit area of Long Hill is quite flat, so it's lucky there's a small cairn to mark the summit or we'd have no point of reference!
