Small on challenge,big on views
by Kennyj  31 Jan 2015
Walked to mast strewn summit today, staring at graveyard car park in Askamore I followed the red looped walk (Askamore loop) to add some distance to the climb.Following this well signposted loop until before it meets a concrete road going downhill I took the forest track on my left turning left at the first junction after about 100 yards, right at the next junction and right again following the track uphill to the summit. As previously stated the summit has a number of masts but the views south towards the Blackstairs,North towards the snow capped Wickow mountains and east towards the Irish Sea are a sight to behold.Total distance 13 km in a little over 2.5 hours taking a short stop for lunch.Highly recommended.
