Fantastic Views for Minimal Effort

On a clear day, surely this represents one of the best viewing points in Wicklow? The picture perfect vista down Glenmalure ensures it lives up to its billing as one of the longest glacial valleys in the British Isles if not only in Ireland. An ambitious claim perhaps but one which the Wicklow tourist board are more than happy to advertise.

The track up from T102893 A is not at all challenging but shows evidence of footfall so good boots and gaiters are recommended. Would be easy to negotiate after a dry spell and would make a handy walk with older children if in the area.

The view is as a good a lesson in glaciation as any textbook can provide.

A highlight amongst the lower hills of the region and another good excuse to head for Glenmalure! Trackback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/713/comment/19853/
