Park at A (W15048 79413) in a gap just off the main road, room for 2 cars, hop the gate and follow the forest track uphill until it stops.Do not try to cross the obvious clearing, it is akin to the Irish sea for wetness. Walk through the trees uphill, passing many large boulders, as far as you can. you'll come to open ground and then cross the bog to the summit near the forestry corner. This is very wet ground so come prepared.
After failing on Broaghnabinnia because of wind(the weather not a bad curry) and running down Knocknagapple pursued by lightning I capped off a perfect day by being the only man drowned in Ireland at 420 odd meters above sea level. What advice for those brave souls who follow me here? park at A (W15048 79413) and follow the forest track uphill until it stops, walk through the trees as far as you can(its easier than the bog) you'll come to open ground and then cross the bog to the summit somewhere near the forestry corner. Its not pleasent, but it is quick. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/710/comment/4261/

One visit is enough

What can I say about the route up and down Knockacommeen? Only that my wife never wants to visit this hill again, ever!
As for the summit, the spot height is not the summit (as marked on my old OSI sheet 79). It is clearly in the area round the forestry corner, as pointed out by Jackill. Which you have to cross the fence & the gouged track to reach this point, on the bank by the trees. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/710/comment/6560/

Webbed feet a thing of the past

After trashing around Mullaghanish and it`s two East tops, followed by the two Knockullanes, headed for this Hill, looking for a drier route to the top. Just off the N22 was able to drive up a rough track beside a yellow Bungalow to B (W16242 79720), room here for one car. followed track to C (W16014 80320), took right fork here, then uphill to next fork at D (W16127 80426), took right here again and steeply uphill on a muddy track all the way to cleared area of bog cuttings, top of hill approx 100mts north of here across fence and boggy track. Happily did not suffer from webbed feet on this route, great views towards Mullaghanish, the Paps and the Reeks from here. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/710/comment/18494/
