Glen of Imaal Loop
by Liamob  6 May 2019
Climbed Camenabologue as part of a loop around the Glen of Imaal firing range. I started from Fentons with a straight forward hike up Camara Hill and Lug (a nice dusting of snow at the top early in the day even though it was the May bank holiday weekend) before heading towards Camenabologue. The going near the base of the climb for it is quite boggy but it soon dries out as you climb. The views from the summit were good across the Wicklow mountains. Camenabologue does feel nicely isolated and wild compared to the much more visited Lugnaquillia. I finished up my hike by dropping down to the col and descending Table Track towards Stranahely forest and back to Fentons. A nice hike for a dry day although the boggy stretch could be fairly dodgy after a long wet spell. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/71/comment/20516/
