A rocky arete between Carrauntoohil and Beenkeeragh. Previously Carrauntoohil Tooth in MV and then The Bones. Changed to have main name Na Cnámha in consultation with Kerry Mountain Rescue (Gerry Christie) and OSi to avoid confusion with The Bone a spur NE of Cnoc na Toinne   Na Cnámha is the 7th highest place in Ireland.

The final 900m summit is conquered!!

The Bones had remained, for many years, the one outstanding peak which I needed to climb to complete the list of summits over 900m. It's a tricky one. I had walked the Beenkeragh Ridge before but the conditions on the day were too icy and wet to risk climbing it.
We started at V772871 starA (Carpark for The Hydro Road) and climbed the ridge to Cnoc Iochtar and on to BeenKeragh in misty moisty conditions.

As we approached the ridge, the sun appeared, mist disappeared and there was clear visibility ahead. My companion, who has walked the ridge many times, led the way and we duly summitted the Bones. Care is certainly needed on the ridge and the narrow path to The Bones but the change in the weather conditions made our task easier.

Mission completed, we enjoyed the lovely sunshine as we continued towards Carrauntoohil and down by Caher back to our starting point. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/7/comment/24026/
