Simple ascent to unremarkable Carn with great views.
Short Summary created by Colin Murphy  4 Sep 2023
There is parking for a couple of cars at G44616 20600 starA. Cross the flattish area of tussocky grass to the east, and after about 400m you will start ascending up a mostly grassy, steepish slope interspersed with boulders and rocky outcrops. The slope eases around 380m around G45261 20104 starB, and the grass is replaced by heather-covered peat. From here the highpoint is some 300m SE, and you will have to negotiate some peat hags to reach it. The summit is a nondescript area of slightly raised, heather-covered peat mounds. Allow 1.5 hours up and down. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/658/comment/5417/
