Viewing platform with track up.
Short Summary created by simon3  24 Oct 2013
An obvious way to climb Strickeen is from Kate Kearney's Cottage where there is a big car park V8808 8881 A. Walk south into the Gap of Dunloe and ascend on a rough track starting at V8775 8831 B. Follow the zig zag path until you start to descend at around 400m then head west for the top.
Srickeen at 440m is a great platform for viewing and photographing both the countryside but also the east end of the Reeks and the Purple Mountain group.
It also provides an initial point on a longer walk into the Reeks. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/656/comment/5415/
