Climbed on 12/9/2014. Following a hard but fabulous ascent of Keeloges Mt looked across Glenade valley towards Truskmore and Gortnagarn, and spied a path that worked its way above Glenade Lough and the precipitious slopes that give access to the plateau above Glenade to an area mentioned on OS sheet 16 as Largy. Parked car at A (G8148 4639) room for one car parked carefully, crossed gate into rough field walked sth for about 100mts to grassy track leading uphill underneath impressive cliffs, path goes steeply uphill above a small forested area below to the left, carefully following this path it leads to the plateau at a junction of fences, headed to the right from here always handrailing the impressive void above Glenade on the right. was able to follow small sheep tracks along the very edge of the cliffs to point B (G7850 4651) Eagle rock in all its splendour is viewed to the west from here, summit of Gortnagarn is approx 500mts uphill to the left form here. A word of caution is advised the path from Glenade is narrow in places above the forest with very steep drops to the left as you ascend, in wet weather caution would be advised as this path is slippery in some areas, the sheep tracks that hug the cliffs above Glenade are very close to the edge of the cliffs with a couple of big gaping holes hidden among the heather hereabouts, with all caution taken the round trip is approx 10kms car to car, and the views over Glenade are very imppressive. After Tievebaun I headed roughly SSE across desolate moorland for the even more desolate plain that is Gortnagara. Couldn't find anything to call the top so chose a peat hag. It's a long walk from Tievebaun and an even longer one back across the moorland to pick up Truskmore access road where we started the days walk. The most exciting thing about Gortnagara isn't it's "top" but the stone circle and other rock formations near the cliff edge at C (G779 468) and D (G783 467) which were the only relief to anotherwise arduous trek for a dull top. Purely for the list tickers! Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/622/comment/4515/

Was going to go up it at eagle rock but an albino on a quad told us there was no walking here and that there were consequences if we went up. This was a couple of years ago, things might have changed but I doubt it. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/622/comment/2927/
