Fine views towards Kenmare
Short Summary created by thomas_g  16 Nov 2013
Easily accessible from the Beara Way, Feorus East is an easy climb up rocky shelves. You can handrail the fence the majority of the way up. The views from top are magnificent and there are some huge cairns near the top which add to the sense of place. Shelter is available just below the cairns for those wishing to enjoy the view with a cup of tea. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/534/comment/5293/

This was our first stop on a circuit of Feorus East, Derrysallagh, Knocknagorraveela NE top and Knocknagorraveela. At point V854637 starA, there is just room to squeeze one car in beside a gateway without blocking it. Then proceed NE along the Beara Way until you reach a stile. Cross this and head NW until the gradient steepens sharply, then ascend Feorus in a zig-zag fashion around the giant fingers of rock that extend from the mountain. The rocky top is impressive with two cairns side by side and magnificent views over Kenmare River. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/534/comment/4041/
