Bedrock type: Sandstone and siltstone, (Gortanimill Formation)

This peak is situated to the east of the southern end of Céim an Fhia / Keimaneigh. There is some variation in the spelling of the name in Irish, and the element cnoc is sometimes prefixed to it.   Douce Mountain is the 642nd highest place in Ireland.
