Heading north, just past the Cliffs of Moher car park you will see a farm gate. There is room to park one car here, at a squeeze. Alternatively you can pay the €8 per person entrance to the Cliffs car park. Cross the gate and proceed up a gravel track for about 100m to the trig pillar. Alternately, you can access it via the official Cliffs track. Keep to the right as you enter the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre area and follow the well-trodden trail north, passing O'Brien's Tower. After about 500m the trig pillar will be visible on the right, about 50m away, although you will have to cross a wire fence.

Coastal Hill

Located adjacent to the world renowned Cliffs of Moher, and although this is the hill which the visitor center is built into, the summit is not located in a public area. Access is via a farm gate opposite the entrance to the main car park ,walk up a gravel track passing some cattle pens and thru a gate out to the field where the trig is located save you jumping the fence from the cliff walk. Be aware that there is no entry fee to walk along the cliffs you only pay if you intend to enter the visitor center or use the car park. Parking for free at A (R04518 93098) which no one seems to mind will allow you access to the walking trail and if you get there early in the morning you will be rewarded with little or no tourists. Bag it as part of the cliff walk
by TommyV 14 Dec 2018
I technically haven't bagged the summit of this hill as it wasn't listed on MV when I did the Ciiffs of Moher walk, but it would be a very small detour to bag it. I was no more than 50 meters from the trig point without realizing it was there, my gaze was too busy looking West to notice it. I'm writing the post to mention the cliff walk. It's not a summit but has to be done by any outdoor enthusiast. Either direction from Liscanor to Doolin or vice vera is a magical experience and apart from the section at the visitor centre you will likely be enjoying the views by youself or with friends and not thousands of tourists fresh off the buses.
