New Twixtmas exploration of an isolated part of Ireland
by Geo 28 Dec 2024
Nothing I can say here, except, if in the locality, do it.
Great views on a good day, easy to access, dunes and short grass mown short by the local ovine population. 10/10.

An easy bag after Mweelrea
by magnumpig 23 Mar 2019
Mweelrea is a sweaty old climb (for me anyways) and if, like me, you feel that climbing it deserves bagging more than one peak, you should visit Lackaleely. Basically it's a small rise overlooking Silver Strand - Park at the carpark SilverCP (L75700 68316) and its a 10 minute diversion up and down. The views are great, (if you aim a camera in any direction in this next of the woods you'll probably have a decent snap) and there's some rocks to clamber over if you're feeling giddy, so all in all it's probably slicker than your average coastal hill.
