Park where suitable or at Nacreva L (L97900 32308) and follow the tractor trail across to turf cuttings and on to the summit area. This is open hillside with no fences and no access issues. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/5036/comment/19534/

A nice way to finish off a day out west
by markmjcampion 21 Nov 2020
Having spent the day exploring and being a bit of a tourist I decided to spend the twilight hour on this bump in the hope of getting a good vantage point for what I hoped would be a nice sunset. I wasn't disappointed. It's possiblie to get up and down this fried egg of a hill in about 20-25 mins but I decided to double the time by parking a little to the west of Sandman's location at approx. A (L97373 32167). I then walked up to point A and followed Sandman's directions to the summit. From there I headed north aiming slightly right of the neighbouring hill. Shortly before arriving at B (L98142 32316) I came across a sizeable lake, the result of an old quarry being flooded. From there a 500m saunter towards the setting sun brought me to my car. A fine coda to my happy day out. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/5036/comment/21480/
