Park where suitable or at L9790032308 starA and follow the tractor trail across to turf cuttings and on to the summit area. This is open hillside with no fences and no access issues. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/5036/comment/19534/

A nice way to finish off a day out west
by markmjcampion  21 Nov 2020
Having spent the day exploring and being a bit of a tourist I decided to spend the twilight hour on this bump in the hope of getting a good vantage point for what I hoped would be a nice sunset. I wasn't disappointed. It's possiblie to get up and down this fried egg of a hill in about 20-25 mins but I decided to double the time by parking a little to the west of Sandman's location at approx. L97373 32167 starB. I then walked up to point A and followed Sandman's directions to the summit. From there I headed north aiming slightly right of the neighbouring hill. Shortly before arriving at L98142 32316 starC I came across a sizeable lake, the result of an old quarry being flooded. From there a 500m saunter towards the setting sun brought me to my car. A fine coda to my happy day out. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/5036/comment/21480/
