From where you park at Big R ( Big R (L95059 36929)) you can see the summit shelter which is a very short walk thru the field gate opposite. A very quick up and down with average views. As the roads are minor a walk connecting with its neighbour is an option. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/5031/comment/19536/

A favourite haunt of Padraig Pearse

Well worth swinging by here to see this 6 metre tall structure [at Big R (L95059 36929)] and get a cool frame for your landscape photos. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/5031/comment/22799/

Nice views for little effort

I cycled up from Casla and left the bike near the Padraig Pearse monument at Big R (L95059 36929). It's worth heading here just to see this circular structure which is approx. 6 metre diameter and frames many a fine mountain view. As Sandman says, the route is quick and easy but I would be a lot more upbeat about the views which are widespread and prett spectacular - from Lackavrea to the Bens in the north and, closer to hand, a fine sweep of Dunmanus Bay and the Rosmuc peninsula.
