short stroll through wonderful wildflowers
by markmjcampion  14 Nov 2020
I headed up here on a fine September day and was well rewarded for such an inconsequential bump in the landscape! There was a rich variety of wildflowers interspersed with rock and grass and the view from the top was pleasant too.
I chained the bike to a post at L58035 45344 starA (plenty of space to park on the common ground here too) and walked southwards up the side track, through a semi-erect gate and shortly after i went through a small gate to the right and the way to the top was obvious from here. How did I know the way I hear you ask? Well in attempting another route further west I was intercepted by a friendly but over-bearing farmer who took the time to walk with me down to the last mentioned gate...it was nice of him but he obviously needed to offload as I got an earful of local politics and shenanigans from him!
