We headed for Cock Mountain from the gap between Pigeon Rock Mountain and Slievemoughanmore and decided to take a direct heading as light was fading. Surprisingly the ground was reasonably ok allowing for the weather conditions. Cloud was low at approx. 400 metres and this photo shows Hen Mountain in the distance and the lower slopes of Cock Mountain in front of it to the right.
