Follow the R569 east of Kenmare for c. 10 km - a right turn brings you onto a twisting road wich eventually winds its way around to Knockanuha Mtn. The drive itself is delightful - a remote valley with lovely views of lesser peaks such as Bird Mtn. and Gullaba Hill. A good track continues from the road and allows a gentle climb to Carran Far North Top. While not spectacular, the top provides a good starting point for a "circuit of Carran" with a descent possible from the col between Carran and Knockantooreen.
