Easy stroll to the top and back.

Park at S817546 starA, the parking area for the "Nine Stones". Note a clear track going WNW up the hillside. This leads up initially over a subsidiary hump and then, with a slight change in direction W around S812548 starB, up to the summit cairn. The slope is gentle and the track good with one rockey patch to be crossed. Distance up and back is 2km and can be walked comfortably in 30 to 40 minutes. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/412/comment/5171/

This is very easy...we did it as the sun was setting (we had to abandon Mount Leinster because of mist,) a good place to start if you are just starting to hill walk. Otherwise not much of a challenge! Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/412/comment/2877/

This is a view of Slievebawn from near the top of Mount Leinster. The walk from The Nine Stones is from the right of the ridge in the photo. The flat terrain of south Leinster province can be seen in the distance. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/412/comment/1349/

Slievebawn is a very short stroll up from the car park at the 380m contour, which means the mountain itself is only 140m higher. Nice views of Mt Leinster and the eastern side of Blackstairs Mountain (shown in this picture). Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/412/comment/902/

Does this qualify as the easiest summit in Ireland? Took 30 minutes up and down and near the summit met a couple with what looked like a six year old boy on the way up! Perfect if you want to take the kids for a picnic but no challenge at all, though does offer some nice views. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/412/comment/2805/

Worth the short walk up, less steep turf and stone path.

We did this on roasting hot day after going up and down Mt. Leinster by road. Nice walk up. Legs welcomed the stretch and walk on turf and rock after the steep tarmac road down the bigger mountain. Two false peaks before arriving at cairn on top. Nice views around. Great on fine day. Good small challenge for young and old. Shared hillside with some very relaxed and calm cattle and sheep besides a few humans. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/412/comment/23607/
