This peak on the Cork / Kerry border is probably named after one of several hollows on its slopes, but it is unclear which one. Like several other mountain names nearby, such the Priest’s Leap and Derrynasaggart, Ir. Com an tSagairt refers to a priest. This may be similarly explained by historical events or folklore from Penal times. More information on the name would be welcome.
Com an tSagairt is the 474th highest place in Ireland. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/395/
