Yuck. It's my fault for trying to bag this one after a couple of days of rain. This was the least enjoyable walk I've ever been on. I parked on the East Clare Way near Feenlea at 677 746 A, and followed the mucky path up into pine forest. I took the second left on the OSI map, planning to turn right on the trail that shoots straight up to the peak. I passed it three times, and did a lot of extra walking. I mistook the trail for a stream...no kidding. I followed a footpath not visible from the road, and started walking up towards Moylussa. Muckiest path I've experienced. Knee-deep mud in some spots for the first 300m or so. Then, and uneventful walk up to the nondescript summit.
The fog that hung over Moylussa lifted when I was halfway down the return path, which didn't sweeten my experience any. I imagine the views from the top would have been nice. Trackback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/390/comment/1671/
