two of us climbed moylussa last week from the car park by lough derg a couple of miles outside killaloe.
we went up through the forest and then it was fairly easy to make it to the top.
it was a beautiful day and we had great views.
we met a farmer planting trees near where the photo posted by murphysw was taken.
he was quite friendly although rightly annoyed by the destruction of some of his fences by people on quad bikes last year.
very soggy on top.
someone has erected a wooden tribute to 4 famous claremen near one of the 2 summits - i presume it is a fairly recent addition.
ps - no real need for wellies at this time of the year i'd say Trackback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/390/comment/2295/

Wet windy walk
by cuan  26 Dec 2013
Heavy, heavy rain and wind, not a day for walking, much less walking up Moylussa.
4 km north of Killaloe parked at Twomilegate carpark.
Walked 2 km up East Clare Way road until it veered sharply right, continued straight on for 0.7 km along forest road/paths, took left 200 m, then right and continued to wood stumps. 25/30 minute walk to summit from stumps. Road is steep in places, you’ll see on way back. The last 0.5 km section to summit is flat, wet, boggy and exposed, walked to stone with plaque, didnt hang about. Returned via the Ballycuggaran Forest carpark route. Trackback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/390/comment/15289/
