Also known as The Playground [OS ½] or Slievenakilla. The name The Playbank relates to the festive assembly held on the mountain on the last Sunday of July, at which sports and dancing took place (Máire MacNeill, 'The Festival of Lughnasa' (pp. 181-82). Also called Carrignahasta.   The Playbank is the 440th highest place in Ireland. The Playbank is the second highest point in county Cavan.

New Comment: Cavan or Leitrim?
by Geo  Wed 24 May
Am I reading my map incorrectly or is this summit not in Cavan rather than Leitrim?
Yes it's Cavan as far as I can see. The border with Leitrim runs over the hill, but the top is in Cavan. Fixed. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/370/comment/23953/
