Kerry scenery to be a big star in Star Wars
by Colin Murphy  16 May 2016
I met a local gentleman called Dan O'Sullivan from the Dingle walkers club near the summit of Gearhane and he pointed out the white line up a distant hillside, which was the artificial road built to facilitate the crew filming Star Wars. I can only imagine what the crew thought of their surroundings, but certainly on the day I was there the scenery was truly epic and worthy of any Hollywood blockbuster. There was a heat haze but you might still make out the white road at the centre of the picture just to the left of the Three Sisters. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/37/comment/18530/

A summer day during lockdown in Dingle

A short but interesting ridge connecting An Gearan (Gearhane) to Brandon Peak midway along the Brandon ridge makes for a good days walking on the Dingle peninsula. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/37/comment/20785/
