According to the latest OSI 62 map, the real summit of this mountain is the NE one. To find it, start at the top of the pass between Slieve Maan and Croaghanmoira. A wide, clear forest track leads to the left; the map indicates a SE-NW track starting at the same point. This track is very faint and really muddy but leads straight to the top. It crosses the clear track 150 higher; you might want to use the clear track (from the start to this point) although in this case it is not easy the find the point where two tracks crosses each other. After you get to the top of the muddy track, turn left, walk around 15 meters in SW direction. There is a faint track along the ridge; the summit is to the right of the track. It might be easier to find the rocks indicating the summit (see picture) if you cross the ridge and locate the remainders of an old fence; walk along it looking towards the ridge.
