Tandragee (Tóin re Gaoith), the town in Co. Armagh, has the same meaning, as do several other places in Ireland, but it is difficult to know what they have in common.   Tonelagee is the third highest mountain in the Wicklow area and the 34th highest in Ireland. Tonelagee is the third highest point in county Wicklow.

Deer hunter 📸
by wild_brian  4 Nov 2020
Early November morning not long after the frost cleared and the sun rose I began my ascent up tonelagee from the glenmacnass waterfall car park marked b. Crossed the river and straight to very soggy bog land. The first steep climb was very Mushy and care was needed. After a few mins the boggy land dried out to a degree. Only to return a short time later although not as bad. Beautiful sunny day with buzzards pheasants and deer to be seen. Once I reached the final climb to tonelagee NE the wind picked up and I now know why its called 'back to the wind'. Beautiful views of the heart shaped lake, lough ouler. Very steep scramble up the final climb to tonelagee summit with slippy surface required extreme care. Beautiful views and throughly worth the trek. 2 hour round trip with plenty of photo breaks.
