Tandragee (Tóin re Gaoith), the town in Co. Armagh, has the same meaning, as do several other places in Ireland, but it is difficult to know what they have in common.   Tonelagee is the third highest mountain in the Wicklow area and the 34th highest in Ireland. Tonelagee is the third highest point in county Wicklow.

The perfect beginner's mountain
by Colin Murphy  27 Mar 2017
Besides crossing Glenmacnass River at the start and end, (which has seen many an unfortunate walker ascend in soggy boots) Tonelagee is a pleasant and relatively easy climb from the carpark near the waterfall. The first 2km to the SW rarely demands any effort and it is not until the final few hundred metres before the summit that any real steepness is encountered. A popular walk, on any fine Sunday you can literally encounter hundred of walkers (and the carpark can be at capacity), but this is a great one if you're introducing someone to the joys of hillwalking, as I was my daughter Cíara, who thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful day in the hills.
