TnVan Wk (Q809 107) and follow the Dingle way for 3 km to A (Q77992 10599) for a direct steep ascent through knee high heather to B (Q77504 09568) where the gradient becomes less steep up to the summit.From the West park near Derrymore bridge at
DerMor Tr (Q74224 10770) (parking limited) and follow Dingle way to the Derryquay river at C (Q760 105) and ascend in a SE direction to the summit

Baurtregaum Far NE (BFNE) has a fine view over Tralee and also into the valley of the Curraheen River which flows NE into the sea. You can also see the Barnanageehy area, a view that lacks charisma. One way of reaching BFNE is from the informal parking just south of Derrymore Bridge (see my comment about Gearhane). Walk along the Dingle Way until you reach the Derryquay River at the bridge about C (Q760 105). Then head SE for the summit over steep rough heather.
Our view shows the connecting ridge to BFNE from the slopes of Baurtregaum NE, that is the SW. Beyond the mountain are the southern outskirts of Tralee. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/263/comment/2081/

Made the mistake of coming in via the boreen to D (Q791 107). As the map says, it does go out to open country, but it's very boggy and overgrown, and the gate at the exit is both fixed shut and not load bearing. Climbed carefully over the gatepost to follow the Dingle Way west to the next stream. Traces of path go up the far bank, but the ascent up the hill's NE shoulder is on very steep man-eating heather, chest deep in places! To add insult to injury it was almost too windy to stand on the top, so continuing to Baurtregaum seemed a bad idea. Descended directly N to the Dingle Way, much easier ground than the way up.
