Gorumna Island is located between the islands of Lettermore and Lettermullen and although these are all technically classed as islands it's possible to access them all via causeway bridges that link them to the mainland so no boat needed to get here. As Gorumna is situated in Connemara and also near the Aran Islands it is rarely mentioned in the travel books and tourist brouchures so tourism is almost non-existent here so you will have the experience of an Aran Islands type of walk without the crowds. There is a purple waymarked trail providing a looped walk on the Eastern side of the island. If interested in getting to the high point, there are two 53 metre points on the OSI map, the one mentioned by sandman and another at L88723 22002 B which lies somewhere inside the obvious reservoir compound.
