This 5 hour loop hike started on at Glenmacnass River car park on the Military road on probably the last good weekend of the year (Sept). We walked approx 1KM and took a left at the big rock, beside the road, You'll know the one that I mean, Next headed for Carrigshouk where this mountain gives you a good break in for start of the journey. From the Top headed back down to a bog track which follows the forest to the base of Mull East Top, From this point we struggled up to the top (Heath and heather is tough going at this time of year).. On the top lunch, Where there were also quite a few other walkers and then on to the summit of Mull. The descent back was via Barnacullian. This stretch is very boggy and care has to be taken as I disappeared a few times. The army chopper was on exercise and made an entertaining display as it flew pass. From the Barnacullian mountain take a left and descend along the river back to the car park.. Over all a very enjoying hike except for the sun burn!!!
