Named from nearby coum, where the River Inny rises. The crags at the back of Lough Reagh, dubbed the 'Aiguilles', are remarkably complex and offer many possibilities for climbing.   Coomura Mountain is the 168th highest place in Ireland.

Stone face, perplexing flow.

Others have mentioned the "Source of the River Inny", wording which appears on the OSI 1:50k map around the coum to the immediate west of Coomura. Here is a photo into the coum from further west. From the angle it's hard to work out the direction the water is flowing. In fact it is right to left.
