Often done alongside Knocknagantee itself, but this Ardering Beg may be done in isolation. One starting point is Eagles L (V66918 71228), which is the start of a trail. It is next to farm buildings but the farmer has no issue with people parking, and there is room for several cars. Follow the well-established trail as it meanders up the mountain - it is steepish in parts. At A (V66292 72935), where the trail turns sharply right, leave trail and head NW directly up the grassy slope, ground firm and obstacle free. At B (V65862 73344) you should cross a much lesser trail - just wide enough for one person - and follow it directly west for about 200m, which will take you to the grassy highpoint.

Vandeleur Lynam? Don't think so......
by bryanmccabe 8 Jan 2024
In August 2023, I compared the elevation of this peak with that of the saddle about 300m to the east (Knocknagantee side) very crudely using Outdoor Active. The difference suggested a 12-13m prominence (two phones) - so probably not a Vandeleur Lynam. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1521/comment/24114/
